By quantifying flex failure through the detection of pinholes, the tester ensures that packaging materials maintain their integrity during distribution. ASTM F392

The GFT-02 Flex Durability Tester adheres to ASTM F392, the standard for testing the flex durability of flexible barrier materials. This compliance guarantees that the testing processes meet industry-accepted benchmarks for reliability and accuracy, ensuring that your packaging materials can withstand real-world conditions.

Sampling and Motion

In the Flex Durability Tester, a sample measuring 200 by 280 mm is secured to the mandrels. The flexing process involves a combination of twisting and horizontal compression, subjecting the film to rigorous conditions. Specifically, the setup initiates a twisting motion spanning 440 degrees within the first 90 mm of the stroke, followed by a linear horizontal motion of 65 mm. The entire cycle operates at a speed of 45 cycles per minute.

Users can choose from five pre-programmed test conditions:

Mode A: Full flex for 1 hour (2,700 cycles)
Mode B: Full flex for 20 minutes (900 cycles)
Mode C: Full flex for 6 minutes (270 cycles)
Mode D: Full flex for 20 cycles
Mode E: Partial flex for 20 cycles

The Flex Durability Tester is equipped with advanced PLC control and an intuitive HMI touch screen interface. It offers five standard test modes and includes three test stations, allowing for versatile and efficient testing. Users can easily switch between long and short stroke modes, and the test conditions (A, B, C, D, and E) are easily selectable to suit various testing requirements.
