A box compression tester measures the capacity of various packaging materials—such as metal, wood, corrugated fiberboard, solid fiberboard, plastics, or combinations thereof—to withstand external compressive forces. This testing evaluates a package's strength and its ability to protect contents under compression or stacking conditions.

 

The tester operates in three distinct modes:
Strength Test: Determines the maximum compressive strength and deformation of the box.
Fixed Value Test: Assesses the box's overall performance based on predefined pressure and deformation levels.
Stacking Test: Simulates warehouse stacking conditions to test the box under various scenarios.


This method is applicable to compression tests on shipping containers, including boxes and drums, either with or without contents. It measures a container's resistance to external loads applied to its surfaces, corners, or diagonally opposite edges.
